Armed men seized government-issued weapons and 11 vehicles after disarming security personnel assigned to an Arab Sheikh’s hunting camp in Balochistan’s Washuk district on Friday, local sources said.
The attackers took control of the security detail deployed at the camp and seized official weapons, government vehicles, and private vehicles belonging to the Sheikh. No casualties were reported in the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the incident and the identity of the attackers remained unclear. No group had claimed responsibility, and authorities had not issued an official statement at the time of publication.
Arab royals, dignitaries and officials from several Gulf countries regularly visit parts of Balochistan for hunting expeditions under official permits. The provincial government typically provides security and logistical support during such visits.
