Authorities in Pakistan said on Saturday that four people they described as “militants” were killed during a security operation in the Panjgur district of Balochistan.

Officials said the bodies were later shifted to the Civil Hospital in Panjgur, adding that the deceased were affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

No further operational details were provided by the authorities, and the claims could not be independently verified.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has not confirmed or denied the authorities’ claim.

Hospital officials said two of the four individuals have so far been identified as Abdul Mutalib, son of Abdul Qadir and a resident of Essa, and Hakim Yusuf, son of Hasil Khan and a resident of Kalag Tasp. The identities of the remaining two men had not been determined at the time of reporting.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, in a statement, praised what he called the “timely and professional action” of the armed forces. “At this decisive stage in the fight against terrorism, the nation stands with its forces,” he said, adding that “every attempt to sabotage peace will be thwarted.”
