The Balochistan government has imposed Section 144 for 30 days, prohibiting pillion riding, the wearing of masks while riding, and all forms of public gatherings.
According to a notification issued by the Additional Chief Secretary (Home), the restrictions will remain in effect from November 5 due to the prevailing law and order situation. The order strictly bans gatherings of more than five people, rallies and public assemblies.
Meanwhile, communication services have reportedly been disrupted in several parts of Balochistan. Internet services remain suspended in Mastung, while users in Quetta reported renewed outages following a brief restoration earlier in the day.
Rights groups and journalists have repeatedly criticized the use of Section 144 and prolonged communication blackouts in Balochistan, saying such measures restrict freedom of assembly and access to information.
Citizens also expressed concern that the continued enforcement of Section 144 will further disrupt daily life and cause widespread hardship.
