Five people have allegedly been subjected to enforced disappearance from several districts across Balochistan, while two previously missing individuals have returned home, according to families and local sources.

In Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, 17-year-old medical dispenser Sudees Baloch, son of Khan Mohammad, was allegedly detained by Pakistani forces from Ghafoor Town in the Sariab area at around 1 a.m. on 3 November. On the same night, 18-year-old dairy worker Waseem Baloch, son of Mohammad Ayub, was reportedly taken into custody from the same locality. Both remain missing.

In Kohlu, a 23-year-old labourer, Ado Khan, son of Ghazi, was reportedly detained during a raid on his home at around 2 a.m. on 10 November. His whereabouts remain unknown.

In the coastal city of Gwadar, 18-year-old student Ghulam Qadir, son of Murad Bakhsh, was taken from the Coast Hospital at around 11pm on 24 November.

In Kech district’s Sarenkan area, 25-year-old shopkeeper Yasir Nemat, son of Nematullah, was allegedly detained from his home at around 3 a.m. on 26 November and has not been seen since.

Two Previously ‘Missing’ Individuals Return Home

Families also confirmed that two previously disappeared individuals have safely returned.

Shah Nawaz Baloch, son of the late Haji Allah Bakhsh and a resident of Sallo, Buleda, who was detained on 30 April from Naval Colony in Karachi while visiting the city for medical treatment, returned home on 25 November after being released.

Another man, Ameer Bakhsh, son of Gangozaar, who disappeared from Keelkor Balgetar on 18 November, has also returned home safely.

VBMP Protest Camp Enters Day 6,012

Meanwhile, the protest camp of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) continued for the 6,012th day on Thursday outside the Quetta Press Club. The camp was led by the organisation’s executive committee member, Niaz Mohammad.

VBMP Protest Camp

In a statement, the organisation called on the federal government to ensure the immediate recovery of Saeed Baloch, a university student who remains missing from Islamabad.

According to the Baloch Students Council (BSC), Saeed, who is enrolled in the Defence and Strategic Studies department at Quaid-i-Azam University, was allegedly detained by law enforcement personnel at the Islamabad Toll Plaza on 8 July. His whereabouts remain unknown. Baloch students at QAU have been staging a sit-in for four consecutive days to demand his recovery.

The VBMP said the continued enforced disappearance of students “creates fear and uncertainty” among Baloch youth studying across the country. The group stated detaining students without due process violates basic rights and disrupts their education.

The organisation appealed to the federal government, the Ministry of Interior and other authorities to “take immediate notice” of the ongoing student protest and ensure Saeed’s safe return, saying his return would help ease the distress felt by Baloch students.
