Four men, including a former paramilitary soldier and a teenage student, have been killed in Balochistan’s Kech district, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) said, alleging the deaths were part of an ongoing pattern of extrajudicial executions carried out by Pakistani armed forces and state-backed militias.
In a series of statements shared on X, the group said the victims, identified as Abdul Khaliq, Najeebullah, Abdul Rehman and Bahad Baloch, were killed between 28 October and 2 November in the Dasht, Tump and Dehaat areas of Kech. The BYC described the incidents as part of what it called an ongoing “kill and dump policy” in Balochistan.
According to the BYC, Abdul Khaliq, a former member of the Frontier Corps, was abducted from Dashti Bazar on 28 October and found dead four days later in the Kech River, bearing multiple gunshot wounds and signs of torture. The group said he had resigned from service after refusing to take part in the abuse of Baloch detainees.
“Khaliq refused to comply with these unlawful and unconstitutional orders. Following his resignation, he established a small tailoring business in Dashti Bazar to earn a living,” the BYC said. “His refusal to partake in such abuses and his decision to live independently made him a target.”
In a separate incident, Najeebullah, 31, a school employee from Miri-e-Kalag, was killed by what the BYC described as state-sponsored militias travelling in a white Toyota Corolla near Miri Link Road on 30 October.
The BYC said Bahad Baloch, a labourer from Kolahoo village in Tump, was killed on 1 November in the Dehaat area of Kech. The statement said he transported oil near the Gwadar border and was intercepted by armed men affiliated with military forces. The attackers reportedly seized his motorcycle and valuables before killing him.
“He was the sole breadwinner of his family, working tirelessly under harsh conditions to provide for them,” the statement said. “After his killing, the perpetrators reportedly attempted to portray the incident as a suicide by placing a rope around his neck and leaving his lifeless body in a nearby mosque.”
The group said that Abdul Rehman, a 16-year-old student from Tump, was shot dead on 2 November inside a shop, allegedly in front of his father, by members of state-backed militias. The BYC said he had recently returned home during his school holidays and was known for his academic dedication and bright future.
The group said the killings highlight a persistent pattern of unlawful violence carried out by state-backed militias across Balochistan. It urged national and international human rights organizations to take urgent notice and called on authorities to end what it described as a cycle of violence and impunity.
