A protest sit-in by the family of forcibly disappeared man Ghulam Jan entered its fifth consecutive day on the CPEC road in Turbat, the main city of Kech district. Ghulam Jan was allegedly taken by Pakistani security forces on May 26, and his family has since been demanding his safe release or court production.
Sources report that a large number of men, women, and children are participating in the demonstration. Despite the sustained protest, state authorities have yet to engage with the demonstrators or address their demands.
Family members of Ghulam Jan say their demand is straightforward: if there are any charges against him, he should be presented before a court; otherwise, he must be released unconditionally.
The protest in Turbat comes amid a broader spike in reports of enforced disappearances across Balochistan this year. Families from various districts have staged similar sit-ins and demonstrations in recent months, many of which have lasted for several days or even weeks. Protesters repeatedly accuse the state of offering false assurances without taking concrete action to recover the missing persons.
In a separate incident, another case of enforced disappearance was reported from Kharan district. On the night of June 12, security forces allegedly detained a young man from Kharan city and moved him to an undisclosed location.
The missing individual has been identified as Suhail Sarparah s/o Haji Zaheer Ahmed Sarparah, a resident of Qila Mohalla in Kharan. According to sources, Suhail had gone out for leisure with friends and was on his way home when he was taken into custody and subsequently disappeared.

His family has lodged a missing person report at the Kharan police station and demanded his immediate and safe recovery.
