The family of a missing university student in Khuzdar has accused Pakistani security forces of forcibly disappearing their son during a press conference held in the city on Sunday.
According to the family, Abid Aziz s/o Abdul Aziz, a resident of the Katthan neighborhood and a law student at the University of Balochistan, Pishin campus, was abducted around 9 PM on June 13, 2025. He was reportedly returning home from the Allama Muhammad Umar Dinpuri Library with his brother when masked armed men in a white Toyota Corolla intercepted them in a busy market area and forcefully took him away in broad daylight. The incident, they said, occurred in front of dozens of eyewitnesses.
Speaking to journalists, the family described Abid as an unarmed, hardworking student with no connection to any illegal activity. They called the abduction of an educated youth not only inhumane but also a gross violation of human rights.
They appealed to state authorities, the Balochistan government, the Ministry of Interior, higher judiciary, Human Rights Commission, civil society, and both national and international media to play their role in ensuring Abid’s immediate and safe return.
The family has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the state institutions, warning that if Abid is not released within the given time, they will resort to peaceful protest within constitutional bounds.
They also expressed deep concern over the ongoing pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan and demanded an end to such practices, calling for those responsible to be held legally accountable.
