Shoaib Bangulzai, former chairman of the Baloch Students Council Multan, was reportedly abducted on Sunday afternoon around 2 PM from Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. According to eyewitnesses, Bangulzai was taken into custody by individuals in plainclothes and moved to an undisclosed location.
Bangulzai has been an active figure in Baloch student politics and previously led the Baloch Students Council in Multan. His sudden disappearance has sparked concern among his family members and fellow activists, who have demanded his immediate and safe recovery.
This incident adds to a growing list of enforced disappearances involving Baloch students and activists, particularly over the past few years. Human rights organizations, both local and international, have raised serious concerns over the rising number of such cases.
Enforced disappearances have long plagued Balochistan, with students, journalists, and political activists often among the most targeted. Nationalist groups and human rights watchdogs have repeatedly accused Pakistani law enforcement and security agencies of being behind these abductions—allegations the state routinely denies.
Despite public protests and appeals from families, the issue of missing persons in Balochistan remains largely unresolved.
