Unidentified men reportedly robbed the house of “forcibly disapperaed” Baloch student leader Zakir Majeed in Khuzdar district of Balochistan.

“The robbers looted our house when there was no one inside,” said Zakir Majeed’s sister, Doctor Shabana Majeed, in a statement to The Balochistan Post. She added, “The thieves looted gold jewelry and other valuables.”

Shabana reported the incident to the local police station, stating, “I and our family were in Quetta for some work when this tragic event occurred back home.”

“The burglars also set fire to the front portion of our house after ransacking it,” she continued. Tinted cars were seen near the residence of the missing student leader, locals informed TBP. Locals suspect the involvement of intelligence agencies in the robbery.

It’s worth noting that Zakir Majeed was reportedly abducted allegedly by Pakistan’s security forces and intelligence agencies in 2009 in Mastung. Zakir’s family has been protesting for his safe release ever since. Farzana Majeed, Zakir Majeed’s sister, undertook a remarkable journey, marching from Quetta to Karachi, and then to Islamabad on foot, marking one of the longest marches of its kind.

Several Baloch activists have alleged in the past that Pakistan intelligence agencies and their local operatives have threatened the families of missing persons and activists, urging them to withdraw their claims. The nationalist activists claim the robbery at Zakir Majeed’s house appears to be part of the same policy.
