The Balochistan government has designated Hub Chowki as a district with its own administration separate from the Lasbela district, the Balochistan Revenue Department said in a notification on Tuesday.
According to the notification, the new Hub district would include Gaddani, Dureji, Windar and Hub city as its tehsils. The notification would come into effect Today, September 1.
It should be noted that Hub Chowki was previously a tehsil of the larger Lasbela district, which comprised of Bela, Uthal, Windar and their adjacent areas, whereas Gaddani and Dureji were sub-tehsils of Hub Chowki. With this notification, the number of districts in Balochistan has climbed to 36 from the previous 35.
