The attack on the camp of the Pakistani security forces that began on Wednesday evening continues after 48 hours as the forces fail to dislodge the attackers. After numerous ground advancements, the Pakistani forces, including elite, combat-trained SSG commandos, and bombarding the camp with military choppers, the Pakistani military has failed to recapture the camp.

48 hours after the beginning of the attack, the fighters of the Baloch Liberation Army are still in a strong position inside the FC camp in Panjgur. The ISPR, the media wing of the Pakistani army, claims that the attacks were “thwarted” and the assailants were “fended off” within the first few hours of the attack. The attackers, however, continue to release voice messages from inside the camp, detailing the events taking place inside. According to BLA, its fighters have so far killed over 70 soldiers of the Pakistani army in Panjgur.

Numerous military helicopters have been circulating Panjgur since the beginning of the attack, frequently showering the FC camp with bombs, but to no avail. Videos circulating on social media show the choppers flying low over the city. Local sources have also confirmed that the helicopters have been flying over the city since dawn and bombarding the FC camp at regular intervals.

The BLA fighters have reportedly shot down three helicopters in Panjgur alone. The downfall of one helicopter was caught on camera – the video shows the tail of the helicopter on fire as it follows a corkscrew trail in the sky. The helicopter bursts into flames and the three pilots leap out in midair. Another video shows a helicopter being hit midair. The attackers also shot down a military drone circulating over the camp.

Since the beginning of the attack, a tight curfew has been imposed in the town. Shops and markets have been closed, the cellular and internet services have been shut down and the locals have been commanded not to go outside their homes. According to reports, the Pakistani forces had arrested two individuals for violating the curfew. Their dead bodies were found a few hours later. The forces reportedly killed a student, Ehtisham Sarwar, when he was on his way to the bus stop to pick up a guest.

The forces also commanded the people in the vicinity of the camp to evacuate the area. It is suspected that after the helicopters failed to dislodge the BLA fighters from their positions, the forces are now resorting to using fighter jets to decimate the camp and the attackers in it.

The Pakistani media appears to have ignored the incident. The ISPR is adamant that the attacks have been thwarted and the attackers have been dealt with, but statements and audio messages from BLA fighters local accounts of the clash suggest otherwise. The attackers are still in a strong position inside the camp.

In a voice note, one of the attackers can be heard telling the BLA high command that the Pakistani forces, including the SSG commandoes, are running around the camp and not even touching the dead bodies of their slain companions.

In a media statement, the Baloch Liberation Army confirmed that the clash between the Pakistani forces has entered its third day. BLA said that three of its fighters have “embraced martyrdom” and 75 Pakistani soldiers have been killed.

The attack in Panjgur began simultaneously with the attack in Nushki, which also continued for a day before the BLA fighters were killed. In a media statement, the Baloch Liberation Army said that the fighters of its Majeed Brigade had killed more than 100 soldiers of the Pakistani forces. BLA also released the photos of the nine attackers.
