At least 13 personnel of the Pakistani security forces were killed and several others wounded in two separate attacks by the Baloch “pro-independence” groups in Ziarat and Panjgur.
According to details, Levies soldiers were attacked in an explosion near the Mangi Dam in district Ziarat. At least 6 individuals were killed and a few others were wounded in the attack.
According to the sources, the Levies were told that armed men had abducted four labourers from the Mangi Dam and summoned on the site. When they arrived, they were immediately hit with an IED explosion, which left six of them dead.
Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a Baloch “pro-independence” group, claimed responsibility for the attack. In a media statement released soon after the attack, BLA said that its fighters had targeted the levies vehicle. Jeeyand Baloch, the spokesperson for the group, said that BLA had warned the Levies and the Police – which mostly employ local Baloch people – to refrain from impeding the Baloch movement, or else they will face the consequences. He said that despite the clear warning, the Levies were directly involved in operations against the Baloch movement. He once again warned the Levies forces to stay away from their activities.
In a separate attack, the Baloch Raji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS), an alliance of four “pro-independence” groups, attacked the Pakistani security forces in Panjgur. In a media statement, BRAS said that its fighters had targeted the “occupying” Pakistani forces stationed at the CPEC route in Kilkor and killed seven of them.
BRAS said that a large convoy of Pakistani forces had entered Kilkor to carry out a military operation in the region. The group had attacked the incoming convoy at the midnight and killed seven of their soldiers. In retaliation, the security forces had reportedly detained dozens of innocent individuals from the nearby areas.
