A Sindhi youngster was reportedly “abducted” by the security forces from Qasim Abad on 16th of June.

According to sources, Sindh rangers have allegedly abducted a Sindhi youngster identified as Sajjad s/o Ayub Kandhro from Qasim Abad region of Sindh.

According to the Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh, on 16th of June Sajjad kandhro was picked by the rangers and plain clothed men from Qasimabad area of Hyderabad, Sindh. Sajjad was blindfolded, arrested and shifted to an unknown location, eyewitnesses said.

Sajjad’s sister Marvi Kandhro said that “our family has already been mourning since 2017 after our father was abducted and now my younger brother Sajjad has been abducted by rangers as well.”

Missing Sajjad Kandhro is a final year student of political science at Sindh University. He had been campaigning for the safe recovery of his father, since 2017.

Sister of Sajjad Kandhro, appealing to the judiciary and human rights organizations urged that “they must take notice of injustices of the state and ensure the safe recovery of my father and brother.”

It is to be remembered that Sajjad Kandhro’s father Ayub Khandro, a Sindhi nationalist political activist, was abducted allegedly by the Pakistani security forces in 2017 and his whereabouts remain unknown to this date. His family, including missing Sajjad Kandhro, has been protesting against his abduction and demands his safe release.

Sindhi political and rights activist are campaigning against the abduction of Sajjad Kandhro using the hashtag #ReleaseSajjadKandhro .

Chairman Jeay Sindh Qaumi Party Nawaz Khan Zaor tweeted that “Abduction of Sajjad Kandhro is the worst form of human rights abuses.”
“Sajjad khandro must be released on immediate basis,” he added.
