Balochistan Liberation Front has claimed it killed 6 Pakistani military personnel in an ambush in Kech, Balochistan.
Earlier, a patrolling convoy of Pakistan security forces was ambushed by unknown assailants in Balochistan’s Kech district.
The incident took place in the Badolak, Dandar area of Kech district on Wednesday afternoon as the Pakistani troops were patrolling the area, when they came under attack by armed persons.
An armed Baloch group known as the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) took responsibility for the “deadly” ambush, saying it killed six Pakistani Army personnel in the attack.
Pakistani Paramilitary forces Levies and Frontier Crops (FC) has set up special patrol teams and additional checkpoints at Hoshab, Tijaban and Herronk areas of Kech.
In a separate statement, BLF confirmed that a fighter of the organisation known as Abdul Wahid Baloch died in an armed encounter with Pakistani forces. BLF said the fighter died while defending other members of the organisation in a face to face fight with Pakistani forces in district Awaran.
The Pakistani authorities have not given any information about the attack or casualties at the time of filing this report.
Similarly, a grenade attack was reported in Kharan area of Balochistan, the responsibility for the attack was claimed by another Baloch armed group, United Baloch Army (UBA).
UBA spokesman Mazar Baloch said in a statement to the media from an undisclosed location that the head office of the government-backed party (BAP) on Jamia Masjid Road in Kharan was targeted with a grenade by UBA fighters last night.
He further said that all the enemies of the Baloch national movement are our targets whether they are in political garb or armed.
The BLF, UBA and several other armed groups, which claim to be fighting for Balochistan’s independence from Pakistan have been attacking government installations and security forces for nearly two decades now.
Pakistan accuses Indian intelligence service RAW of being behind the attacks, whereas, New Delhi vehmently denies the charges.
