Iranian guards were picked up by unknown militants early on Tuesday morning.
According to the Iranian media, guards were kidnapped when they were patrolling near the Pakistani border.
“Fourteen Iranian border guards were kidnapped on the border with Pakistan on Tuesday”, an official was quoted as saying by state news agency IRNA.
Though the Iranian officials only confirmed abduction of fourteen personnel but TBP can reveal through sources that the correct number of abductees is nineteen.
The Iranian official said the kidnappers were members of a “terrorist group,” but gave no more details.
“These 14 people were kidnapped around 4-5 AM in Lulakdan border area,” IRNA quoted the official as saying without naming the person.
According to some reports, Basij and IRGC members are also amongst the abductees.
Lulakdan is in Sistan and Balochistan Province of Iran.
