Reports from different parts of Balochistan indicate an increase in Pakistani military activity, with an operation continuing for a second consecutive day in Kachhi district and heightened troop movements reported in the mountainous areas of Kech’s Tump region.
According to local sources, Pakistani forces are continuing an operation in Kachhi, Dhadar and surrounding areas. Gunship helicopters and drones are reportedly taking part in the operation, while firing has been heard from several locations.
Sources further claimed that clashes between Pakistani forces and armed individuals were reported in parts of the district a day earlier. However, officials have not released any details regarding the nature of the operation or any casualties.
Meanwhile, in Kech district’s Tump area, residents have reported a significant increase in the movement of Pakistani military personnel, armoured vehicles and tanks in and around the villages of Gomazi, Dezig, Maar and Kir.
Local sources said the presence of forces has also increased in the mountainous areas surrounding Gomazi. Military helicopters were reportedly seen flying and patrolling over the Mazan Band mountain range, while drone activity has continued in the area.
Residents have expressed concern over the growing military presence and aerial surveillance. No casualties or armed confrontations have been reported from Tump so far.
Pakistani military authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the reported movements in Tump or confirmed whether a formal operation is under way.
The reports come amid a broader security situation in Balochistan, where military operations, intelligence-based raids and armed clashes have frequently been reported in several districts. In recent months, local residents and political groups have raised concerns over the impact of such operations on civilian populations, while officials have maintained that security measures are aimed at countering armed groups active in the region.
