Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader Syed Bibi has been released from prison after spending two months in detention, according to the organisation.

The BYC said Syed Bibi was initially detained by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) during a raid on her home on 1 July 2026. According to the organisation, she was released on 2 July following protests in Turbat against the life sentences handed to Dr Mahrang Baloch and Shah Sibghatulla.

However, the BYC said she was detained again on 3 July, one day after her release, and was held for two months under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (3MPO) law. She was subsequently released from prison on 31 August 2026.

In a statement, the BYC said that during her detention, Syed Bibi witnessed the hardships faced by numerous Baloch prisoners and gained first-hand insight into what the organisation described as injustices affecting detainees.

According to the BYC, the experience further strengthened her commitment to advocating for human rights and justice and deepened her understanding of the human impact of detention and imprisonment.

Pakistani authorities had not issued an immediate statement regarding her release at the time of publication.
