Pakistani forces reportedly demolished the house of an enforcedly disappeared man during an ongoing military operation in Jiwani, a coastal town in Gwadar district.
According to reports, Pakistani forces reportedly raided the Panwan area of Jiwani, where they demolished the home of Ali Asghar as the military operation in the town enters the third consecutive day.
Ali Asghar was allegedly detained by Pakistani forces on 16 April 2026 and subsequently subjected to enforced disappearance. His whereabouts remain unknown, according to his family.
Local residents further alleged that, over recent days, Pakistani forces have detained and forcibly disappeared numerous people from Panwan and surrounding areas.
The reported operation follows a recent suicide attack claimed by the Majeed Brigade of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on a Pakistan Coast Guards camp in Panwan. Residents allege that military operations against the local population intensified in the aftermath of the attack, with multiple arrests and reported enforced disappearances.
Dr Sabiha Baloch, the central leader of the Baloch Yakjetti Committee (BYC), condemned the reported demolition, stating that Ali Asghar has remained missing since his alleged detention on 16 April and that his family has received no information regarding his fate or whereabouts.
She further alleged that security forces had repeatedly raided the family’s home over recent months, harassed relatives, and compelled one of Ali Asghar’s brothers to appear at a press conference before ultimately demolishing the house with heavy machinery.
Questioning the legality of the action, Dr Baloch asked under what law the family of an enforcedly disappeared person could be subjected to what she described as “collective punishment”. She called on the authorities to publicly explain the legal basis for both the disappearance and the demolition of the family’s home.
The Pakistani authorities had not publicly commented on the allegations at the time of publication.
