The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) and Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) on Thursday claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on Pakistani forces and installations in Awaran, Jhao, Basima and Sibi areas of Balochistan.

BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said fighters ambushed a Pakistani military convoy in the Kolwah area of Awaran on April 22, adding that the convoy was moving “from one camp to another”.

He said fighters encircled the convoy in the Geshkour area between Sahar and Grari and launched what he described as a “heavy attack” using rocket launchers, LMGs and sniper rifles.

He claimed six personnel were killed and several others wounded, while military vehicles were “badly damaged” in the attack.

In another operation on the same day, he said BLF fighters targeted a Frontier Corps snap-checking point in front of Basima Police Station with a hand grenade, which landed inside a vehicle and caused casualties and severe damage.

The group also claimed responsibility for an April 19 attack on a military checkpoint in the Gajro Singeen area of Jhao, stating that multiple personnel were killed and injured in that operation.

In a separate statement, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said fighters took control of a police post in the Lamji area of Sibi, seizing weapons, vehicles and other equipment.

He said detained personnel were later released after being warned, adding that fighters also set up a blockade on the Quetta–Karachi highway where they conducted vehicle searches.

He said clashes erupted when Pakistani forces advanced towards the area, with exchanges of fire continuing for a prolonged period and resulting in casualties.

Pakistani authorities did not immediately comment.
