The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) has claimed responsibility for setting up road blockades and conducting vehicle checks in parts of Dhadar in Balochistan.
In a statement issued to the media, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said the group’s fighters established temporary checkpoints in several areas of Dhadar, including Kachhi, Mir Bagh and Qalamdin. According to the statement, the blockades were in place from the afternoon until around 6 pm, during which vehicles passing through the areas were subjected to snap checks.
The spokesperson claimed that no state officials or representatives of government institutions passed through the area during the blockades. The statement also said that the group’s members treated local civilians respectfully during the operation.
The BRG said it was responsible for the road blockades and checks and expressed appreciation for what it described as the moral support of local residents during the operation.
There was no immediate response from Pakistani authorities regarding the claims made by the BRG.
