The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a “pro-independence” armed group, said on Saturday that its fighters killed six Pakistani soldiers in three separate attacks carried out in Quetta, Kachhi and Kech districts of Balochistan.

In a media statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said fighters carried out a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED) attack in the Daghari area on the outskirts of Quetta on Friday.

He said the device targeted army personnel who were “sitting in a gathering after clearing a railway track,” killing four soldiers on the spot and injuring two others.

Local sources had earlier told The Balochistan Post that an explosion near Sherdil Stop, close to Daghari Cross, hit a team clearing the railway track. Initial reports suggested several personnel were killed or injured in the blast.

The BLA said a second attack took place the same evening in the Kalamuddin area of Dhadar, Kachhi district.

According to the statement, BLA fighters used automatic weapons and rockets to target soldiers as they left their post, causing “casualties among the enemy army.”

A third attack was carried out late Friday night when BLA fighters targeted a Pakistani Army post in Saami, located in the Kulag area of Kech district.

The group said several rockets and automatic weapons were used, killing two Pakistani soldiers and causing additional casualties and property damage.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said it carried out four separate attacks in Nushki, Tump and Dasht between 18 and 20 December.

BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said fighters targeted a Pakistani forces’ vehicle with an IED in the Zarrin Jungle area of Nushki on 18 December, killing three personnel and injuring two others. The group said the vehicle was “completely destroyed.”

He said BLF fighters were on patrol in the Malant area of Tump on 19 December when Pakistani forces attempted to track them using a quadcopter.
According to the statement, fighters shot down the drone.

The spokesperson added that BLF fighters later fired several grenade-launcher rounds at a military camp in Malant, resulting in “casualties and material losses” for Pakistani forces.

In a separate attack on 19 December, the BLF said its fighters set fire to and destroyed machinery at a Ufone mobile tower in the Shay Zangi area of Dasht, alleging the equipment was being used for surveillance purposes.

Separately, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) said it carried out an attack on police in the Bhit Shah area of Hyderabad district in Sindh.

In a statement issued to the media, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said fighters targeted a police station with a hand-grenade explosion, causing what he described as “human and material losses” to the police.

He said the organization accepted responsibility for the attack and added that such operations would continue “until the freedom of Balochistan.”
