Two young men have reportedly been forcibly disappeared after being detained by Pakistani forces in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan.
According to family members, Huzaifa Buzdar, son of Zulfiqar Buzdar, and Rehan Buzdar, son of Naseeruddin Buzdar, were detained by Pakistani forces on 24 August from the Sabzal Road area of the city. Their whereabouts remain unknown.
“They were taken by the forces in front of witnesses, yet no institution is acknowledging their detention,” one family member said.
The families expressed concern over their safety and appealed to human rights organizations to raise their voices for their immediate release.
Enforced disappearances have remained a persistent human rights issue in Balochistan for more than two decades. Rights groups and local advocacy organizations say thousands of students, political activists, and civilians have been abducted over the years, with many still missing and their families unaware of their fate.
