The Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a protest demonstration in Bonn, Germany, to condemn enforced disappearances, state violence, and ongoing human rights abuses in Balochistan. The protesters called on the international community to break its silence and take immediate action to stop what they described as “the Baloch genocide” and to ensure transparent investigations into rights violations in Balochistan.

Addressing the demonstration, BNM representatives criticized the global community for its apathy and denounced the role of powerful states in supporting Pakistan’s policies in Balochistan. They said that despite being rich in natural resources and strategically located on vital global trade routes, Balochistan remains trapped under what they termed “colonial oppression,” where the Baloch people are systematically deprived of their political, social, and economic rights.

The speakers accused world powers of backing Pakistan’s “colonial regime” in pursuit of their own expansionist interests and access to Balochistan’s vast resources.

Highlighting the deteriorating human rights situation, the protestors said that enforced disappearances have become widespread in Balochistan, with many missing persons later found dead, their mutilated bodies dumped in remote areas. They added that several villages have been subjected to aerial and ground assaults, yet international bodies such as the United Nations and the European Union have remained silent, an attitude the protesters said contradicts global human rights principles.

The speakers further stated that families of victims of enforced disappearances live under constant fear and psychological torment. “They cannot even ask questions,” one participant said, “because the moment they raise their voices, they are harassed, threatened, and silenced.” They emphasized that the repression extends beyond individuals, tearing apart entire communities.

The event was addressed by several political activists, including BNM Germany General Secretary Jabbar Baloch, along with Habib Baloch, Luqman Baloch, Asif Baloch, Sharik, Hammad Baloch, Waleed Baloch, Wajahat Baloch, Sheeran Baloch, Hania Baloch, Sarah Baloch, Amie Baloch, and Akbar Sabz Baloch.

The participants urged international human rights organizations, the United Nations, and global civil society to take urgent notice of what they termed “ongoing atrocities” in Balochistan and to hold Pakistan accountable under international law.
