The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said on Tuesday its fighters killed seven Pakistani soldiers in a roadside bombing in Kech district, while the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) announced the capture of a serving army personnel in Balochistan’s Mastung.

In a media statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s fighters targeted a Pakistani Army convoy vehicle in Tump’s Nazarabad area on Tuesday with a remote-controlled IED.

“The explosion completely destroyed enemy vehicle and eliminating all seven personnel on board,” the group said.

This was the third high-casualty IED attack claimed by the BLA in the Kech district within a week. On 7 September, the group said it killed nine Pakistani soldiers in a convoy bombing in Zamuran, while on 2 September it said another IED blast in the same area killed seven personnel.

The BLA also said it targeted a vehicle transporting minerals in Mastung’s Khadkocha area in a separate operation.

Meanwhile, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the group’s fighters raided the Dasht Umar Dhur area of Mastung on 8 September and took into custody Muhammad Hanif, son of Abdul Ghani, a serving Pakistani Army soldier from Dhadar.

The group said communication devices and documents were seized during the raid, adding that preliminary interrogation confirmed Hanif was first posted in Sibi before being transferred to Mastung. It said his fate would be decided after further review of the seized material.

Both groups vowed to continue operations until “the occupying forces withdraw from Balochistan.” Pakistani authorities had not issued any statement at the time of publication.

Fresh attacks across Balochistan

Meanwhile, fresh attacks were reported across several areas of Balochistan.

In Basima’s Patk area, armed men ambushed security personnel assigned to protect a convoy. Sources said the assault caused casualties among the forces.

In Kalat, a military vehicle was targeted in an IED blast near Shekhri on Tuesday, while troops were later ambushed on foot in the Morgand area. Local sources also reported that a military post in Morgand came under fire.

In Chagai, unidentified gunmen set fire to construction machinery belonging to a company working on the Ziarat Balanosh road, destroying several pieces of equipment.

In Turbat’s Josak area, police personnel guarding a PDMA office under construction were briefly taken hostage by armed men, who seized their official weapons.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the latest attacks. However, Baloch armed groups, including the BLA and BLF, have carried out similar assaults and have stepped up IED bombings, ambushes and raids in recent weeks.
