According to reports, security forces in Khuzdar allegedly took a man into custody on Tuesday, after which his whereabouts remain unknown. Witnesses said personnel travelling in two vehicles detained Rahmatullah, son of Abdul Karim Baddani. Rahmatullah, a resident of Zehri, was reportedly visiting relatives in Khuzdar. Family members claimed that local police refused to register a First Information Report (FIR) following the incident.
In a separate development, Levies officials in Kech district confirmed the recovery of an unidentified body in the Buleda Gardank area on Wednesday. Initial examination suggested the individual had been shot at close range. Evidence was collected from the scene, and the body was transferred to Turbat Teaching Hospital.
Human rights groups and local activists have long alleged that enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings are recurring issues in Balochistan, often involving political workers, students, and other civilians. Organisations such as the Human Rights Council of Balochistan (HRCB) and Paank have documented hundreds of cases each year, reporting that many abducted individuals remain missing for extended periods or are later found dead. Pakistani authorities have generally denied involvement in such incidents.
Investigations into both the Khuzdar disappearance and the Kech recovery are ongoing.
