Two men have reportedly been forcibly disappeared from Dera Bugti in Balochistan, continuing a pattern of enforced disappearances in the region.
According to local sources, Meshoon Khan s/o Mitha Khan Bugti was detained by Pakistani security forces from Dera Bugti city. He was taken into custody on Sunday and has since been moved to an undisclosed location. His family has not been informed of his whereabouts.
In a separate incident, security forces also detained Paneri s/o Marzu Bugti from the Sui area of Dera Bugti district. According to his relatives, Paneri, who is a resident of Pat Feeder and described as an extremely poor man, was forcibly disappeared on June 27 and remains missing.
Families of the disappeared individuals say they are concerned for their safety, particularly due to a growing trend in which missing persons are later killed in staged encounters. Many families, fearing reprisal from state forces, often choose not to make the cases public, further complicating efforts to trace the disappeared.
