Custodial killings of reportedly enforced disappeared persons continue at an alarming rate across Balochistan, with two separate incidents in Dera Bugti and Mashkay adding to the growing list of extrajudicial executions allegedly carried out by Pakistani security forces.
According to reports received by The Balochistan Post, three bodies were recovered in Piyara Colony, Sui Tehsil, Dera Bugti district, on Tuesday night. The deceased, reportedly previously subjected to enforced disappearance, were allegedly killed in a staged encounter and their bodies dumped in a public area.
The victims have been identified as:
Ali Baig s/o Pahi Bugti, reportedly forcibly disappeared from Dera Bugti on 19 March 2025.
Yousaf aka Waddo s/o Shah Nawaz Bugti, reportedly abducted on 18 October 2024.
Zahid s/o Usman Bugti reportedly disappeared on 18 October 2024.

In a separate incident in Mashkay Tehsil, district Awaran, two more previously disappeared individuals were found dead. Local sources report that the deceased were:
Nazar Ahmed s/o Jan Muhammad, reportedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces on 23 December 2024.
Ali Muhammad s/o Hakeem, reported abducted from Kandri Bazaar, Mashkay, on 1 February 2025.
Both bodies, riddled with bullet wounds, were transferred by security personnel to Mashkay Hospital on Monday.

These incidents are part of a deepening crisis in Balochistan, where enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings have become a widespread and systematic practice, drawing condemnation from human rights organisations. While the state routinely denies these allegations, 2025 has seen a marked increase in such killings, often carried out under the guise of “encounters” or anti-terror operations, despite the victims being in prior custody.
The dumping of bodies in deserted areas and the use of unmarked graves are also widely reported, with bereaved families and activists calling for international attention to what they describe as “crimes against humanity.”
