Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), an organisation that campaigns against enforced disappearances in Balochistan, has reported the suspension of several of its social media accounts and channels.

According to the organisation, the X account of its chairman, Nasrullah Baloch, has been suspended, while its WhatsApp channel has also been removed for reasons that have not been disclosed.

VBMP further stated that it has received repeated security alerts regarding attempts to access its Facebook account from various locations and devices.

The organisation has been active for more than 16 years, advocating on behalf of families of missing persons in Balochistan and documenting reported cases of enforced disappearances. It has regularly submitted information on such cases to human rights organisations and other relevant forums.

VBMP is also known for maintaining a long-running protest camp outside the Quetta Press Club, where families of missing persons have campaigned for information about their relatives and called for their recovery.

In a statement, the organisation described the suspension of its social media accounts and the removal of its WhatsApp channel as a coordinated action targeting its online platforms.

VBMP alleged that its accounts were being deliberately targeted as part of an effort to restrict its activities and outreach. The organisation said attempts to silence what it described as a peaceful human rights campaign were condemnable.
