Pakistani security forces have reportedly conducted a large-scale raid in the Koshk Malikabad area of Turbat, the main city in Kech district, leading to the alleged enforced disappearances of at least 17 individuals.

According to local residents, the operation was carried out late at night when security forces surrounded the area and launched a house-to-house search. During the raid, several individuals were taken into custody and have since been missing.

Eyewitnesses report that the forces carried out a sweeping search operation across the neighborhoods of Malikabad and Koshk. The following individuals were identified among those abducted:

  1. Abdul Rehman s/o Abdul Majeed
  2. Hammal Imam s/o Imam Bakhsh
  3. Zahoor Ahmed s/o Murad Hasil
  4. Khalil Ahmed s/o Murad Hasil
  5. Ikhlaq s/o Zahoor Ahmed

All are residents of Koshk Malikabad and were reportedly taken away by the forces without warrants or charges.

Human rights groups have frequently expressed concern over such operations in Balochistan, where enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings are reportedly common and often go unaddressed by the state.
