Baloch armed groups, including the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), have claimed responsibility for multiple operations targeting Pakistani security forces, local collaborators, and vehicles involved in resource extraction across Balochistan.

BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, in a statement to the media, detailed four separate attacks carried out by their fighters.

According to the group’s spokesperson, in Mastung’s Splinji area, BLA fighters ambushed Pakistani military personnel advancing into the region. The attack left at least two soldiers injured as they attempted to retreat under fire.

In Kohlu’s Noi Shim area, the BLA targeted a camp allegedly led by a pro-government “death squad” under the command of Mohabbat Khan Marri. Eight operatives fled the camp, leaving behind weapons and supplies, three of them injured, including one critically. The fighters reportedly seized the abandoned arms and set the camp ablaze. The spokesperson warned collaborators in the region to cease supporting Pakistani forces or face dire consequences.

Jeeyand Baloch further stated that in another operation, BLA fighters killed Jameel, a key figure in a pro-military death squad, in Tump’s Kohad area. Jameel, accused of forming armed groups, conducting raids, and targeting youth, was shot dead, and his weapon and motorbike were confiscated, he added. The BLA’s intelligence wing, ZIRAB, has identified other collaborators who will soon face similar actions, the spokesperson warned.

BLA spokesperson said that their fighters attacked three trucks in Nushki, which were involved in resource extraction. One truck was destroyed by fire, and two others were severely damaged by gunfire. The spokesperson reaffirmed the BLA’s resolve to prevent the exploitation of Balochistan’s natural resources.

Meanwhile, another Baloch armed group, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for a sniper attack in the Tump Azian area of Kech district on January 11. According to the BLF spokesperson, Major Gwahram Baloch, a sniper from their tactical team, killed a Pakistani soldier standing guard outside a military outpost. The fighters then targeted the outpost with automatic weapons, causing additional casualties and material damage.

The BLF reiterated its commitment to continue attacks against Pakistani forces until the liberation of Balochistan.

These continuous attacks in the region highlight the increasing strength of these groups, where Baloch armed organisations oppose Pakistani control and advocate for Balochistan’s independence. The targeted attacks on security forces, collaborators, and infrastructure underscore the groups’ strategic focus on disrupting both military operations and economic activities in the resource-rich region.

While these groups claim their actions are a fight for liberation, the Pakistani government has repeatedly condemned such attacks as acts of terrorism, vowing to intensify counterinsurgency measures.
