The families of missing persons Zaman Jan and Abul Hasan have staged a sit-in on the M-8 CPEC highway in the Hoshab area of Kech district, Balochistan, protesting their enforced disappearance. The road has been blocked, causing long queues of vehicles on both sides.
According to reports, Zaman Jan s/o Sipahan Jan, and Abul Hasan s/p Rahmat, were forcibly disappeared on December 16, 2024, along with Altaf s/o Bahram, who was later released. The sit-in began on Tuesday, with the families demanding the immediate recovery of Zaman Jan and Abul Hasan.
The families have stated that the three-day grace period they had announced during a press conference on December 20 has now expired without any response or updates regarding the missing individuals. They allege that District Council Chairman Mir Hothman had summoned their loved ones to his house, where they were forcibly disappeared.
“We gave a three-day ultimatum in our press conference, but despite this, no information has been provided about our loved ones,” a relative said. “If they are not recovered, the protest will continue.”
The families have called on the public to join their sit-in, vowing to maintain the roadblock on CPEC Road in Hoshab until Zaman Jan and Abul Hasan are recovered.
