Former Balochistan Chief Minister and Sarawan tribe leader, Nawab Aslam Raisani, has emphasized that sustainable peace in Balochistan will remain unattainable unless the issue of missing persons is resolved and the constitutional rights of Balochistan are recognized.

Speaking at an event hosted at Sarawan House on Monday to welcome the new office-bearers of the Sarawan Press Club Mastung, Raisani underscored the long-standing outcry of Balochistan.

“Balochistan, as a federating unit of Pakistan, is entitled to constitutional rights that have been denied by successive rulers. Without addressing these core issues, any attempts to impose peace through force will prove fruitless,” Raisani stated.

He highlighted the plight of missing persons as a critical humanitarian and political issue that continues to fuel unrest and mistrust between Balochistan and the federal government.

The former chief minister also stressed that Pakistan’s federal structure must operate on principles of equality and justice, urging the central authorities to acknowledge the rights of Balochistan to foster lasting harmony.

The event concluded with calls for actionable steps to address the grievances of the people of Balochistan, including a transparent process to locate and reunite missing persons with their families.
