At least six dead bodies have been discovered in different districts of Balochistan, raising alarm and deepening the ongoing crisis in the region. The process of identification is currently underway.

In Khuzdar district, five bodies were found in various locations and subsequently brought to Khuzdar Civil Hospital. Among those identified are Fayaz Jattak, Saeed Ghulamani, Saeed Miraji, and Nisar Ahmed, all of whom were forcibly disappeared last month after being detained allegedly by Pakistani forces and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

In a separate incident, one more body was discovered buried near Saleh Sheikh Goth in the industrial city of Hub Chowki. The deceased has been transferred to the hospital for identification.

As these discoveries unfold, there are also reports of six individuals being detained by Pakistani forces from various regions of Balochistan and Karachi.

Asif Jan Baloch, a senior member of the Barkhan Youth Union, was detained after being summoned by the Kohlu Commandant at around noon, on Wednesday. Since his detention, he has been missing, sparking concern among his family.

In Kech district, Nadeem Bewas was reportedly detained by Pakistani forces two days ago from the Naseerabad area, and his whereabouts remain unknown. In Kharan, two brothers, Bakhtiar and Kamran, sons of Muhammad Ghaus Yalanzai, were forcibly disappeared allegedly by Pakistani forces from Chief Chowk just before ‘Maghrib’ prayers on Wednesday. Their family has since staged a sit-in at Red Zone Kharan, where intelligence agency offices are located, demanding their immediate release.

Meanwhile, in Karachi, Husnain, son of Khalid, a resident of Balochabad Kech Mand, and Rehman, son of Aslam, a resident of Peshin in Western Balochistan, were detained on Tuesday night by Karachi police and Pakistani intelligence personnel from the Leemarket area. They were reportedly taken to an undisclosed location. Family members, upon visiting the local police station, were told by the police that they were unaware of the detentions, hinting that intelligence agencies might be involved. Relatives have reported that the phone numbers of both individuals sporadically turn on for a brief period before going silent again.

The discovery of the bodies and the increasing number of enforced disappearances in Balochistan have heightened fears and led to growing demands for accountability from the families of the missing and local human rights organizations.
