Baloch ‘pro-independence’ armed groups, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG), have claimed responsibility for a series of recent attacks on Pakistani military and police forces in Balochistan’s Buleda, Zamuran, Mastung, and Sohbatpur areas, resulting in multiple casualties.

Jeeyand Baloch, the spokesperson for the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), stated in a media release on Thursday that BLA fighters conducted three separate attacks against Pakistani forces in Buleda, Zamuran, and Mastung.

In the Gilli area of Buleda, BLA fighters used an improvised explosive device (IED) to target a Pakistani military vehicle. According to Jeeyand Baloch, the explosion caused significant damage to the vehicle and injured three soldiers.

Additionally, in Zamuran, between Japshan and Tank, BLA fighters ambushed a Pakistani forces foot patrol. The fighters reportedly used automatic weapons, killing two soldiers instantly.

On June 2, BLA fighters attacked a checkpoint at a Pakistani military camp in Espilinji, Mastung. This assault involved a grenade attack, which seriously injured two soldiers, according to the spokesperson.

“These attacks are part of our ongoing campaign against the ‘occupying’ Pakistani forces,” Jeeyand Baloch said. He emphasized that the BLA’s operations would continue until their objectives are achieved.

In a separate statement, Dostain Baloch, spokesperson for the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG), claimed responsibility for an attack on Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Sohbatpur.

Dostain Baloch said that on Wednesday night, BRG fighters targeted CTD officials near Jianni in Sohbatpur. The attack involved gunfire and the use of two hand grenades, injuring three officers and damaging nearby vehicles.

The BRG spokesperson reiterated that their attacks would continue until the “liberation of Balochistan” is achieved.

Meanwhile, in the Shoor Parod area of Kalat, a member of a government-backed militia, locally known as “death squad,” was killed by armed assailants.

Regional sources identified the deceased as Hamza. The attackers also seized his weapon during the assault. Hamza had previously survived multiple attacks.

At the time of reporting, no group had claimed responsibility for the attack in Kalat. This region is one of the most insurgency-affected areas in Balochistan, with Shoor Parod and its surrounding areas being active zones for Baloch armed groups that frequently target Pakistani forces and their supporters.
