In a series of alarming incidents, seven individuals have reportedly become victims of enforced disappearances across various locations in Balochistan.
Reports indicate that Pakistani forces have allegedly detained a young man from the Mach area of the Bolan district, identified as Sangat Sana from Kili Jamaldini Noshkay, who was employed at a local hotel. His current whereabouts are unknown.
In a separate incident in Karachi’s Liyari area, Rasool Baksh, son of Nek Muhammad, was reportedly taken into custody by Pakistani rangers and plainclothes forces at 3:00 am on Thursday. The family has confirmed his detention and is calling for his safe recovery.
Additionally, on Friday night, four individuals—Muhammad Saleh son of Tariq, Imtiaz son of Iqbal, Waseem son of Hassan, and Ejaz son of Umeed—were allegedly taken by Pakistani forces from Aapsar Turbat city in the Gwadar district.
In response to these disappearances, Tariq Dawood, along with other concerned residents of Turbat, held a press conference on Saturday. Dawood claimed that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other forces had forcibly detained four persons from their homes. He warned that if the detainees are not released within two days, they will block the CPEC road in the D Baloch and Hoshap areas.
Furthermore, an elderly man named Shikari Abdul Raheem was reportedly detained by forces in the Tump area of the Kech district.
The frequency of enforced disappearances in Balochistan shows no signs of abating, with over twenty-five people reported missing in just the past three days.
Meanwhile, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) continues its sit-in protest in Quetta city, marking its 5450th day. Mama Qadeer Baloch, Vice Chairman of VBMP, spoke to a visiting delegation, emphasizing that the sacrifices of the forcibly disappeared have not only propelled the Baloch National Movement onto the global stage but have also drawn international attention to the plight of Occupied Balochistan.
