Pakistani intelligence agencies have allegedly forcibly disappeared a person from the Mastung district of Balochistan.

According to reports, Pakistani intelligence agencies allegedly detained a person named Israr Ahmed Baloch from Balochistan’s Mastung district a day before Eid-ul-Fitr and subsequently moved him to an undisclosed location.

The reports indicate that the youth forcibly disappeared on the 9th of April and since then his whereabouts remain unknown.

The Baloch National Movement’s (BNM) human rights department, PAANK, confirmed the incident in a post on the social media site X on Thursday and described the incident as “extremely alarming.”

“PANK appeals to the authorities to investigate the enforced disappearance of Israr Ahmed by Pakistani intelligence agencies and play a role in the recovery of the youth.”

It’s pertinent to mention that enforced disappearances are not uncommon in Balochistan, as every day a young man faces a similar fate without trial or is killed in an alleged fake encounter. Currently, a family of a Baloch missing person is protesting for the third consecutive day by blocking the M-8 CPEC highways in the Kech district for the safe recovery of their loved ones.
