The Pakistani security forces’ military operation in Balochistan’s Bolan district continues for the fourth consecutive day, according to local sources.

On Saturday, local sources reported seeing gunship helicopters patrolling the skies, with ground forces advancing toward civilian settlements.

By Sunday, it was reported that Pakistani forces had detained women and children in the Shaban area near Sibi, specifically targeting the residence of an individual named Aliyan. Additionally, approximately twenty-five of Aliyan’s sheep and goats were reportedly confiscated by the security forces.

Reports from Saturday also detailed explosions and shelling in the mountainous regions, where, allegedly, two herders, who are sons of Aliyan, were detained during the operations.

The ongoing military operation and the disruption of communication systems have significantly hindered access to comprehensive information on the ground situation.

The security officials have not issued any statement on the operation. However, there is growing concern within Baloch social and political circles that the local civilian population will face the repercussions of the operation.

The military operation comes in the wake of a recent attack in Mach by the Baloch ‘pro-independence’ group. The attack, carried out by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), was named ‘Operation Dara-e-Bolan’ and started on January 29 and lasted two days, concluding on January 31.

The attack targeted the FC headquarter, military checkpoints, and government buildings, resulting in the deaths of 13 BLA fighters and 78 Pakistani security personnel.
