A Baloch refugee was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Balochistan’s Western (Iran-administered) Balochistan’s Zarabad district on Saturday.
According to reports, unidentified assailants opened fire and killed a Baloch refugee named Zahir Baloch in Zarabad district of Sistan and Baluchestan province and the attackers escaped unhurt.
Local sources told TBP correspondent that Zahir was forced to evacuate his hometown Kandari in 2020 due to Pakistani military operations in Mashkey town of Eastern (Pakistan-administered) Balochistan and sought refugee in Western Balochistan.
The motive behind the murder remains unknown. However, PAANK, the human rights department of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), in a post on “X” accused Pakistani intelligence agencies of continuously targeting Baloch refugees and urged the international community to address the “Baloch genocide”.
