At least one minor boy and an elderly man were killed in a skirmish at the Pak-Afghan border in Balochistan’s Chaman town on Wednesday.

According to reports, two people, including a minor boy, were killed, and another child sustained injuries in the clash between Pakistani and Afghan Border forces at the Chaman border.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chaman confirmed the incident and said that both of the deceased were Pakistani nationals, whose bodies were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Chaman.

According to the DC Chaman, due to the incident, the “Friendship Gate” gate was not closed, but pedestrian traffic was stopped for some time.

The Pakistan Army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) blamed the Afghan troops for initiating unprovoked fire on pedestrians. However, officials on the Spin Boldak (Afghan side) accused Pakistani border forces of opening immediate fire on civilians.

Spin Boldak press officer Hafiz Haqmal told the media that Pakistani forces shot a child in his arm, injuring his hand, and there is no information about the other two injured individuals.

Haqmal identified the injured kid as Abdul Wasi, son of Shah Mohammad, a resident of Monar Chawok, Spin Boldak district of Afghanistan.
