Another man from Baloch ethnic minority was hanged in Western (Iranian-administrated) Balochistan’s central city of Zahidan.
According to reports, the man was imprisoned when the Iranian court passed his death sentence, and he was executed by hanging till death. The execution took place early morning on Saturday in the central jail of Zahidan.
The man was identified as thirty-four-year-old Chirag Ali Bamari, a resident of Dilgan.
As per sources, Bamari’s case stems from allegations of murder that led to his arrest three years ago. Prior to his execution, he had been transferred to the Zahidan central jail on Thursday.
The incident highlights a troubling trend of escalating death sentences, predominantly targeting individuals accused of involvement in drug-related activities. Most of the affected individuals hail from the Baloch ethnic minority.
The Baloch community, particularly those residing in Western Balochistan, has long voiced their grievances against the Iranian establishment — alleging systemic discrimination against the indigenous Baloch ethnic group.
