At least three people have lost their lives, and several others have been injured in Balochistan due to heavy rains that started on Wednesday last week. The downpour has wreaked havoc across the region, causing significant disruption and damage.
Naseer Ahmed Nasr, the head of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan, reported that seven districts have been severely affected, including Lasbela, Kech, Panjgur, Washuk, Khuzdar, Mastung, and Surab.
In Khuzdar, two children lost their lives and two others were injured due to lightning strikes. Meanwhile, in the Kech district, a vehicle lost control on slippery road conditions, leading to the death of one person.
Turbat has experienced flash floods due to the heavy rainfall, severely disrupting daily life in the city and its surrounding areas, with numerous homes sustaining damage.
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning, stating that more rainfall is expected in Balochistan over the next 48 hours.
