Khuda Baksh Buzdar’s Book “Balochi Proverbs” and another translation by Iqbal Zaheer entitled “Biya kissa jan’an” got published by Balochi Academy Quetta.

According to reports, the Balochi Academy Quetta published Khuda Baksh Buzdar’s Book “Balochi Proverbs” including Idrees Shah’s 11 stories translated by Iqbal Zaheer entitled “Biya kissa jan’an”. The Book “Balochi Proverbs” includes Balochi Proverbs and old Balochi examples along with their translation in Urdu. While Afghan writer Idrees Shah’s 11 stories were translated into Balochi by Iqbal Zaheer.

In the preface of his book entitled “Balochi Proverbs” published by Balochi Academy Quetta, Khuda Baksh Buzdar wrote that Balochi being an old language is encircled in limited written literature. This realization led him to collect the old Balochi examples and proverbs to be compiled in the form of a Book for the readers of Balochi literature. He referred to his collection as a struggle for the preservation of knowledge and national heritage.

He further wrote that earlier Mir Ghulam Qadir Nosherwani had written a book on Balochi proverbs which is also a great work but he argued that Nosherwani’s work lacks the proverbial sayings of Balochi language spoken in the region of North Eastern Balochistan and Dera Ghazi khan. Buzdar referred that his work includes the proverbial sayings of these regions too.

The second book published by Balochi Academy Quetta, consists of 11 stories written by Afghan writer Idrees Shah which are translated into Balochi language by Iqbal Zaheer.

Iqbal Zaheer in the preface of the Book “Biya kissa jan’an” associated these 11 stories with the 30 years of struggle of Afghan intellectuals. The writer of these stories, Idrees Shah had written for the children.

He further wrote that Idrees Shah collected these regional and cultural stories from historical literature written in Middle Asian and Middle Eastern languages.
