Six members of a family were killed and four others were injured in an explosion caused by a gas leak in a house in Quetta city of Balochistan on Tuesday.

According to reports, the gas leakage caused a massive explosion in a house at SirKi Kalan adjacent to double road in Quetta city.

Six people were killed including two women and four children and four others injured when the roof of the house collapsed due to the blast.

Five people were buried under the debris while one was burnt to death, the dead belonged to the same family.

Rescue sources said the injured have been shifted to a hospital. The condition of the injured is said to be critical.

The house was completely destroyed in the blast. PDMA and other rescue teams took part in the rescue operations.

It is pertinent to mention that many people have lost their lives due to gas leakage explosions in Balochistan. The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has been observing scheduled and unscheduled load shedding in various parts of Balochistan. The reasons behind such incidents are unscheduled load shedding.
