A Baloch youth went missing from Gwadar city of Balochistan, on Sunday.

According to reports, last night Pakistani forces allegedly detained a youth from the Kulanch area of the city. The abductee has been identified as Hameed Baloch s/o Babu Mehrab.

It is to be recalled that before this, Hameed Baloch’s father Babu Mehrab had been killed after being detained. As oer reports, in 2014, Pakistani forces allegedly detained Babu Mehrab, and then released him one year later. But he was abducted once again by the forces on August 11, 2018 — and later his dead body was recovered.

According to the family sources, several other young men of this family have been victims of enforced disappearances by the Pakistani forces. In 2012, Hameed’s brother Haidar was also reportedly abducted by the Pakistani forces. Similarly, in August 2014 a man from the same family, named Ameer Baksh was forcibly disapperaed, whose whereabouts remain unknown since.

It is pertinent to mention that the enforced disappearances of Baloch people is an unending issue in Balochistan. More than 45,000 people are missing across Balochistan, human rights groups and the families of the victims allege Pakistani security forces and secret services for the enforced disappearance of Baloch people.
