Adam Qadir Bakhsh, Fisherman Secretary of the National Party in Balochistan, has said that fishermen should be allowed to go to the sea in Jewani. “Currently, the Pakistan Coast Guard has restricted the local fishermen from entering waters in Jewani, which we strongly condemn,” he added.

Qadir Bakhsh said the government should make a mechanism to deal with various situations in these areas but to stop people from earning their bread. He further added, “we strongly condemn the militant attack on the security forces but militant attacks don’t justify the decision of the forces to stop the fishermen from their only occupation.”

He said that the local fishermen are worried about the trawler mafia on the one hand while on the other hand, their stoves are getting cold by the ban on fishing as it is the only way they feed their children.
