A military operation reportedly commenced by the Pakistan army on Sunday morning in the Dasht Seyahji area of Balochistan. Seyahji is a mountain range between Balochistan’s district Gwadar and Kech.

According to local sources, a large convoy of the Pakistan army arrived in the Seyahji mountains from Gwadar on Sunday morning — where the army surrounded the aforementioned area and launched an operation. While on Monday morning, the locals witnessed at least six gunship helicopters flying from Gwadar to Seyahji.

Locals have also spotted spy planes in the said areas for the past two days.

The military operation comes in the wake of an armed attack on Pakistan army’s convoy a couple of days earlier in Kandasol area of Gwadar. a Baloch “pro-independence” armed group, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) took responsibility for the attack on Saturday.

In a press release, BLF claimed their fighters killed 7 Pakistan army personnel in Kandasol and Seyahji areas — confiscating the weapons and other equipment of the military personnel. It also said that the video of the attack will be released soon.
