A shutter down strike and protest demonstrations were held on Tuesday against the murder of Israr Khan, a student killed in the Loralai district of Balochistan.

According to reports, all the markets and shops remained closed as a result of the strike. The strike and condemnations come after the incident on Monday when a young student was killed and another three students got injured in a firing incident. Levies sources said the firing incident happened in the Kohar dam area of Loralai. The students belong to Loralai University. The dead student was identified as Israr Khan. He was stated to be the only brother of four sisters.

“We want justice for Israr Khan”, Zank Khan, the uncle of the victim said. He said the police and administration must ensure the arrest of the culprits.

The attackers fled from the spot unhurt. Search is underway for the arrest of killers, Levies said. Israr’s family sources said the accused had made the four students hostage and when they resisted the accused opened fire on them.

Loralai administration had taken strict security measures to maintain the law and order situation on the eve of the strike. The flow of traffic was also thin on the roads of Loralai.
