At least six people, including three children, were killed and over a dozen others were injured in various rain-related incidents in Quetta and its adjacent areas on Monday. The sources have also reported that at least five people were swept away by the flash floods. Electricity poles and trees were uprooted and mud houses collapsed as rain with thunderstorm lashed Quetta and its environs.

The provincial capital and its surrounding areas were plunged into darkness after half of the 72 feeders of Quetta Electric Supply Company (Qesco) went out of order. Qesco officials said that some feeders were closed by the company itself due to rains and strong winds, a common practice.

The meteorological office has predicted that the central and northern parts of Balochistan will receive more heavy rains with thunderstorms.

In Quetta, the low-lying areas were badly affected as the rainwater entered houses resulting in the collapse of the mudhouses. The makeshift houses of nomads were swept away by the flash flood coming from the nearby mountains.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority has said that four deaths were reported in the Sariab area of Quetta where a house collapsed. The dead included two women and a baby. The police have reported that five women were injured when the wall of a house in the Sariab Customs area collapsed in the evening. Two small girls were also swept away by the floodwater in the Eastern Bypass Area. The slam areas near the Easter Bypass Area were badly affected as the heavy floods swept away the makeshift houses of the nomads, rendering them homeless. In the Sariab Mills area the flash flood swept away four persons who were trying to rescue a vehicle stuck in the floodwater.

In the Gashtri Area of district Bolan, five miners were swept away by the flood as they were trying to cross the seasonal Nullah. The levies forces and rescue workers are reportedly trying to find the miners who were identified as Hussain Baksh, Mera, Khan, Fazil and Hasil Khan.

Due to heavy rains in the Quetta, Bolan and Kolpur areas, the traffic on the Quetta-Sukkur national highway was suspended as the local administration closed the highway.
