Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan lost the majority votes in no-confidence motion by opposition parties.

Shehbaz Sharif, an opposition leader in Pakistan National Assembly has asked PM Khan to step down after losing the majority in the parliament. Sharif said on Wednesday at a news conference that “PM has no option other than resignation”.

On this occasion, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Chief, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and other opposition leaders were also present.

Shehbaz Sharif’s demand has come after the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan announced to support joint opposition in the no-confidence motion against PM Khan.

“Prime Minister’s days already numbered”, Maulana Fazal said. He said that an era of incompetency has ended after three years and the country would be on the right track.

After MQM’s support, now the joint opposition has a clear majority in the parliament to remove Imran Khan from the post. Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Shah Zain Bugti and Muhammad Aslam Bhootani have already announced to support the joint opposition against PM Khan.
