Leaders of the Haq Do movement Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman, Hussain Wadhela and others met with Chief Secretary Balochistan Mathar Niaz Rana on Saturday to discuss various demands of the movement, including the illegal trawling in the Arabian Sea, border trade with Iran, elimination of unnecessary check-posts and withdrawal of unnecessary forces from Balochistan.

According to the details, Haq Do leaders discussed the issue of illegal trawling in the Arabian Sea along the coastal belt of Balochistan and the measures employed by the government to curb this practice. They also debated the implementation of a proper, legal system for the border trade with Iran and putting an end to FC’s involvement in the trade. The delegation also suggested measures to the government to end the bribery and embezzlement among the ranks of the FC in the border trade.

The delegation of the Haq Do movement also demanded the removal of the unnecessary check-posts that dot much of Balochistan, especially the ones that are located near civilian settlements, hospitals, schools or any other public places. The delegation said that the FC outposts that overlook Baloch households must also be removed as they trespass on the privacy of the locals.

The delegation also demanded the continuation of the salary of the employees in the municipalities and the local government in Makran and give ownership rights to the people of Kolachi Para and Sarhandan, Makran over their lands. They also demanded that the government prioritize the poor, needy people of Gwadar for the newly announced vacancies in the fisheries department.

The representatives of district Kech demanded that there shall be no restrictions in the trade and transport of eatables from across the border. They also reminded the chief secretary of the government’s promises of building a fire station in Kech.

The representatives from Panjgur said that the local administration has failed to keep law and order and stability in the city. They demanded that this “incapable” administration shall be replaced with a more practical one.

The delegation also proposed several measures to resolve these problems. The chief secretary assured the leader of the Haq Do movement that their demands are legitimate and the government will soon take concrete measures to solve all these issues.
